Baking Soda and Cancer

Cure or Quackery?

Like cannabis, there is a huge amount of testimony that baking soda is effective in eliminating cancers but given the nature of cancers and the reluctance of individuals to modify their lifestyle, baking soda cannot be an across the board cure. It has a slightly salty, alkaline taste and is encoded as food additive E 500.

Sodium bicarbonate is most commonly known as Baking Soda. It's a natural chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3 composed of sodium ions and bicarbonate ions. In nature the natural mineral form is nahcolite, a component of the mineral natron that is found dissolved in many mineral springs. While Sodium bicarbonate can occur as a solid crystal, it is sold as baking soda, a fine powder that readily dissolved in warm water.

Sodium bicarbonate was identified in 1791 and called soda ash, experimentation led to its use as baking soda which came to be used primarily used in baking, as a leavening agent. It reacts with acidic components in batters, releasing carbon dioxide, which causes expansion of the batter and forms the characteristic texture and grain in pancakes, cakes, quick breads, soda bread, and other baked and fried foods.

Medically it has been used as an antacid to treat acid indigestion and heartburn however its reaction with stomach acid produces salt, water, and carbon dioxide making it slightly toxic and gastrointestinal irritation is of particular concern when used excessively. It's said to help urinary tract infections and around the home it has a ton of uses. It's in toothpaste (whitens), shampoo, soothes sunburn and insect bites, mouthwash, deodorant, foot scrub, bath additive to draw out toxins, jewellery cleaner and fabric brightener to list a few. As a natural skin care: mix teaspoons of Baking Soda and one teaspoon of olive oil to a paste, apply to skin and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Massage a little and rise off with cold water for a natural glow.

Bicarbonate is an essential nutrient and our stomachs, pancreas and kidneys often have to struggle to produce enough—especially as we get older. Older people do have bicarbonate deficiencies and the perfect thing medically speaking to do is to alleviate these deficiencies. Because of its composition it breaks down proteins and neutralizes acids.

Sodium bicarbonate and cancers

The primary theory is that cancers thrive in an acidic environment and that the consumption of baking soda which is alkaline creates an environment hostile to cancers. Practitioners like Dr. Mark Sircus attest that Sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) is the least expensive, safest and perhaps most effective cancer medicine there is. So for some cancer patients, this could make the difference between life or premature death because cancer patients are universally very acid and the alkalinity provided by bicarbonate is crucial.

How to take it?

Because sodium bicarbonate is alkaline and neutralises stomach acids, you need to take it at least an hour before food or two hours after eating. Various users describe taking from one teaspoon per day up to two table spoons per day and as baking soda dissolves in warm water, you can mix it into a half glass of warm water and swallow. The taste is mildly salty but not really unpleasant.

Mixing with honey, molasses or maple syrup.  No doubt by doing this, you make the baking soda more palatable,  but schools out on recopies it's necessary to actually cook the sweeteners and baking soda. Heating baking soda would reduce it's effectiveness as it decomposes under heat.

As an experiment in self responsibility, it seems like a good exercise and if you feel any adverse reactions or changes, stop taking it. But note, it works best when all sugary, high starch and junk foods are eliminated from the diet.

Wow, Wonderful post and it seems like common sense as it’s known that cancer creates and favors an acid environment. Because of this, Dr. Simoncini and others have used sodium bicarbodate as an alkaline therapeutic agent but the way that acidity seems to protect cancer is not fully understood.
