Grapeseed Oil

Fruit of the vine

Grape seed oil or grape oil is pressed from the seeds of grapes, and is a by-product of wine making. Unfortunately grape seed oil is usually extracted from grape seeds using a solvent rather than being pressed from the seeds which aromatherapists say makes it an inferior oil for aromatherapy massage.

However; for some, grape seed oil is a preferred cosmetic ingredient for control of skin moisturization and it is a popular massage medium as its nice to work with. It also contains more linoleic acid than many other oils.

The oils are usually extracted in factories by crushing the seeds and using solvents, but a healthier oil is gained by cold-pressing or expeller pressing.

Bio Oil

So what about Bio-Oil?

Bio-oil is a product promoted as “the product for scarring and skin care”, but when we look at the ingredients its hard to see why anyone would ever want to put it on their body!

What’s in it?

Like Johnson’s Baby Oil, the Bio-Oil base is mineral oil, a bi-product of petroleum and not designed for use on our skin as mineral oil acts as a layer that’s difficult to absorb, it clogs the pores which slows the skins’ ability to eliminate toxins.

Ingredient list

Botanicals. Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract (Calendula Oil) Lavandula Angustifolia Oil (Lavender Oil) … No problem here as these oils are actually good for your skin but, they exist in a

The Indonesians joke that they are the only country to export oil to the Middle East, but the corporate leadership – the people behind the fires do not suffer. They can exist comfortably in their Mediterranean mansions while their staff on the ground and the wider population as far away as

Argan Oil

One of the worlds best skin products

Take a deep breath when you read this: there are over 10,000 industrial chemicals in common skin care products. The average American adult is exposed to 168 hazardous chemicals each day. And everything applied to the skin, be it lip stick or deodorant, sun block or general skin care products are absorbed by the body, just like they’d been eaten.

Remember that scene in the second season of The Simpsons, in which Mr. Burns ran for Governor, and a three-eyed fish, affectionately called “Blinky”, mutated by the pollution from Burns’s own power plant, came back to haunt him?

The natural skin care movement gets stronger by the day, folks. And one of the
