An age old practice
For the past 6000 years women have been second-class citizens although since the Industrial Revolution, it seems as if they have been allowed a degree of freedom. Allowed away from the kitchen and child-minding provided they look pretty and don’t have an opinion.
When times get tough women most often find themselves confined to the kitchen except on rare occasions as when back in the 1700’s, women stormed the palace of Versailles and demanded social equity. They didn’t get it then and it wasn’t long before French women became the most oppressed in Europe.
In today’s Middle Eastern war, it is the Kurdish and Yazidi women who have taken up weapons against daesh as have other

Most of us have heard the term karma, a Sanskrit word (कर्म) implying the interlinking of cause and effect. Karma signifies a moral caution and a stimulus to become responsible in life because when we cause harm to others by accident or even design, consequences will come back to us at some point.
The Dhammapada is one of the most sacred and best-loved of Buddhist texts. It points out the method of self-realization, by the way of moral conduct:
Like garlands woven from a heap of flowers, Fashion from your life as many good deeds.
The text further enlightens on the nature of the karmic fruit:
For while the

Connecting and uplifting
In contrast to music and song designed to soothe or stimulate one’s heart and mind towards some short-term happiness, the intent of mantra is to help an individual to transcend the mundane and enter a super conscious existence.
Much of our modern music can stimulate right action towards greater peace and harmony that like the brokenhearted cowboy songs it serves to reinforce a sense of hopelessness and limitation. Some music will set your body free to move and dance while some music facilitates greater reflection.
Mantra if you like is the most sophisticated of reflective sound. The melody or arrangement of sounds is conducive to brain function and the activation of intelligence rather than emotion. The words

Reward for service or escapism
Sometimes we wish life could be more heavenly. but what is heaven and where do we find it? Across the Middle East during a time of growing desertification, Heaven was most often described as an idyllic paradise with lush gardens, an abundance of food and no responsibility, all one’s needs are taken care of.
If we look at the temple Art from north-west India across North Africa, it depicts this idyllic heaven as something akin to the mythical hanging Gardens of Babylon. So perhaps we can say that this was in response to harsh living conditions and indeed those with means either created their own miniature paradise or spread and conquered other lands.

Slowing the decay
Oral hygiene and the prevention of tooth decay are priorities for most people and when it comes to dental care, treatments are expensive and seldom covered by insurance or national health care plans.
Most of us at some time in our lives will get some degree of tooth decay, cavities or even gum disease. The most common cause of tooth decay is the consumption of sugar. This substance is so toxic that young children given unlimited access to soft drinks even lose their baby teeth to decay and great numbers of teenagers lose their teeth due to sugar, and other dietary or lifestyle habits.
Other factors that increase the likelihood of cavities besides sugary foods and

Past time for change
The place of women in Catholicism and Islam has always been very explicit, that is to be mothers and doormats for the men, to be hidden out of sight and if they dare to stray from this path, they are punished. In light of our supposed civilisation, it’s a source of shame that we still give special privileges to these religious groups and continue to demean women.
We are not sure when patriarchy began but it was probably one day when some man was in a bad mood, maybe he stubbed his toe, maybe he was sad and depressed for some reason and blamed his mother for bringing him into the world. There no way

A temporary release from suffering
When we consider the nature of our lives, a great many of us are trapped in some kind of suffering as a result of external politics and conditions as well as problems we create for ourselves. Pleasure involves our senses of perception be it physical, mental or emotional with spiritual pleasure or ecstasy the highest emotion.
Suffering and unhappiness is not what we are designed for, it’s simply a consequence of a whole lot of stuff either real or unreal. The baseline for human well-being is peace from which happiness, joy, bliss and ecstasy can flower.
However when people are suffering, pleasure offers a temporary respite and yet it has also become

Humankind’s natural diet
Everyone has an opinion, but not every opinion is correct. When we look around the world at humanity, those who live longest and remain healthiest all have a very good or semi-vegetarian diet. In Okinawa Japan, life expectancy amongst the older generation is in excess of 100 years because bulk of their diet is fresh vegetables.
It is one of the tragedies of Okinawa that the parents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents have to bury their children who are dying because they have embraced the Western high meat, high-fat and highly processed diet that has become so prevalent across the world.
In India and other countries where vegetarianism is prevalent, longevity and good health are considered normal yet in

India’s loss to foreign invaders
Awake IndiaJai Shiva Consecration of AdiYogi in Coimbatore Youtube
Over 1400 years, India has been raped and exploited by foreigners with different ideologies. It’s somehow ironic that the underlying ideologies of the Arabs, the Greeks, British, French and others are all based of seeds of knowledge from India that have been genetically manipulated.
From a psychological perspective, these invasions are akin to the children attacking their mothers for India is the mother of all nations. Many historians disagree, but the scientists agree that without India’s contribution of knowledge and wisdom, our world could not have developed as it has.
An ancient civilization where Dharma prevailed, India consisted of many polarized societies led by
