India's Dowry Problem

And the origins of India’s dowry system

The word ‘dowry’ refers to the durable goods, cash, and real or movable property that the bride’s family gives to the bridegroom, his parents, or his relatives as a condition of the marriage. It is prevalent in many countries, not only India but in India it is more obvious and causes great social harm.

The dowry system puts great financial burden on the bride’s family and often leads to crimes against women ranging from emotional abuse, injury and sometimes death. The payment of dowry is clearly unjust and is prohibited under Indian law.

The dowry system reflects and perpetuates man’s superiority over women making a mockery of the very idea

Michael Cremo and Today

History is to learn from

Michael Cremo, also known by his devotional name Drutakarmā Dāsa, is an American freelance researcher who identifies himself as a Vedic creationist and an alternative archaeologist. He has made some very interesting discoveries from which we can arrive at the possibility that humanity has been around for millions of years and over different periods developed basic metallurgy and similar technologies.

There is a possibility that the Egyptian pyramids were constructed 35,000 or so years ago to produce electricity for global distribution. On the other hand these evidences could represent that alien cultures have resided here and either died out or departed. Certainly some of the unidentifiable metallic objects, giants and other phenomena provide interesting food

The Consequences of Alcohol

And it’s impact on civilisation

Published on: 18 Aug 2016, Updated 18 Aug 2018

It’s a well established fact that alcohol dulls the senses and over a long-term period destroys brain tissue. Yet we are sensory beings and we rely on our senses to perceive the world around us as well as to make sense of that world. Therefore alcohol in effect is destroying sensitivity to life; in other words, making drinkers stupid.

Civilisation is a recognition that one belongs to a collective. So if we look at ants, each colony is a unique civilisation in a similar way to us. As human beings we all share common traits, but our sense of civilisation depends on our language and upbringing.

That Sugar Film

Sweet and deadly

Most of us have grown up to love sweet things even though it’s impossible to eat sugar by itself. But now in this new age of information, the advertisers and the corporations they represent encourage us to consume as much sugar as possible but on the other hand modern medicine is saying that sugar makes us fat, rots teeth, causes diabetes, heart disease and cancers.

What to believe?

In the early history of European sugar consumption, sugary foods and drinks became the new fad but sugar also fuelled industry or should we say trade and corporate greed? The plantations that grew sugar for European consumption were located in the Caribbean. The trading

Causes of Hair Loss

Protecting our appearance

Anthropologists say we began to loose our body hair about two million years ago and this gave us a competitive advantage over other animals. But nature left our head hair as protection from the hot sun, basically so it wouldn’t fry our brains.

Today, a full head of hair is desirable, yet for many of us it begins to thin at a very young age and both men and women experience hair loss for similar reasons which are.

Disease or illness

Losing hair could be a sign of being unhealthy. Illnesses such as systemic lupus erythematosis and syphilis, or thyroid disorder show hair loss as a symptom. Chronic kidney dysfunction may also cause lots of hair to

The War on Drugs

And the politics of profit

Richard Branson made headlines some time ago with his declaration that the UN was about to announce a recommendation to end the war on drugs, however this seems to have been a misunderstanding because the UN was only talking about decriminalising the possession of small amounts of drugs as a partial solution to help stop the spread of HIV.

Drug use is seen by many as an antisocial epidemic, but for the majority of people, it’s just another crime or taboo so why do people use drugs?

In ancient tribal cultures, drugs were used to open the windows of perception and develop altered states of consciousness. The Shamen were able to connect with the movement

The 1080 Debate

The people vs big brother

Fatally poisoned and waiting for death

1080 is a metabolic poison that is extremely toxic to all air-breathing organisms. It blocks the body’s muscle and organs ability to absorb energy from its food, and results in a slow and inhumane death, typically 8 -24 hours for birds, 2-4 days for large mammals. There is no known antidote for this deadly poison.

New Zealand has a very real problem with introduced species of plants and animals that are displacing all indigenous species. To control weeds, the country is pouring massive amounts of Roundup and other highly toxic weed killers over the land that end up in the food chain for us to consume.

Similarly,

Colon Cleansing

A great internal clean out

By laughing with my colon

Improve Your Digestion With An Intensive Colon Cleanse

What’s the deal with colon cleansing and why are so many people interested in this rather unorthodox therapy?

Lets start with your colon

The colon is the last stop in your digestive system where your body extracts the last vital nutrients from food before it becomes faeces and is expelled. The colon is lined with delicate membranes that regulates bacterial fermentation and the absorption of nutrients that our body needs to function.

The impact of our modern lifestyle

With our inadequate nutrition, unhealthy eating and lack of exercise, our digestive system struggles to cope with what
