Intellectual Property

An evolutionary story

A Tumblr image

Today intellectual property has become a big business and around the world every year, billions of dollars are spent and sometimes wasted in the protection of what are essentially ideas and arrangements of words or molecules. So when we think about defining intellectual property we immediately come up against some problems such as originality as opposed to a modification of a thing or an idea.

People generally equate intellectual property with original ideas and inventions but if we step back and look at the world, once intellectual property enters the public domain it becomes public property and people are free to use or modify it at will.

History on its Head

The DNA trail in its true light

Beauty and Intelligence – South India

For many people the out of Africa theory as regards to human evolution has been accepted as an irrefutable fact, yet much of the actual evidence in the story has been buried because the archaeological and scientific communities doing the research operate as personality cults. It takes a great deal of courage to correct one’s Professor or the words on the page of some eminent writer.

Yet Dr. P. Priyadarshi has done this and in the video below which sadly is not of the best quality takes apart human migration theory based on DNA evidence and then he matches corresponding migrations of horses, cattle, mice and

Sankalpa or Resolution

Developing conscious intent

Sankalpa (संकल्प) is a conception, idea or notion formed in the heart or mind that leads to a resolve or vow to act, a determination to perform, a definite intention, volition or will. In relation to yoga, it is a chosen resolution made during the practice of Yoga Nidra.

It is a process of training the mind to develop trust and faith in yourself and provide a direction for your whole life – if you use it wisely. Its effect is to awaken the willpower within, by uniting the conscious awareness with the unconscious forces, lying dormant. It takes the form of a short phrase or sentence, clearly and concisely expressed – using the same wording each

Why is Hinduism Higher than Religion?

Welcome to Maria Wirth

She writes:

Hinduism (the term is used today to cover many different strands) is based on the Vedas. One could call the Vedas the most ancient, original ‘revelation’, because the Rishis are not the authors of the Vedas. Due to their Tapas (austerities), they ‘saw’ (Sanskrit: drishtih = see) the mantras in cosmic awareness through the veil that prevents ordinary eyes from seeing them.

The Vedas were the first to claim that there is one great Brahman (Supreme Being) as the base of this varied manifestation, in whom all is contained. Nothing exists apart from Brahman. Brahman is not personal. It is infinite, eternal, blissful awareness. Our Atman (Self or I) is one with it.

The Human Condition

Calling for the transformation of the humanity

Correspondence to The Human Condition

Promotional ideas from WTM have been appearing in my Facebook feed so I spent some time reading and listening to their ideas which I find find noble and liberating. There is no doubt a major transformation is necessary to prevent the total destruction of our species yet our elected leaders continue to play lip service to our troubles while engaging more deeply in games of destruction.

Unfortunately the intellect can only grasp so much and is therefore limited. The human mind is indeed like a computer so badly programmed that it barely functions as it should and instead it’s continually scheming to obtain temporary

Indo-Aryan Languages

An 8000 year history

Indo Aryan languages are all derivatives of Mother language Sanskrit – the most complete human language of this planet. These include almost all languages of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Balochistan, Kurdi communities in Iran, Iraq, Syria and Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan and some areas of Caspian.

Many languages that are in red like Prakrit, Gandhari, Vedda, Niya, Avestan, Scythian, Bactrian, Khotani, Khwarezmian, Saka, Sarmatian, Pamiri, Vanji, Old Persian, Mediani, Alanic, Sogdian, Parthian, Zaza Gorani are no longer in colloquial usage or rather extinct as they were originally known. Some of them may have corrupted into some colloquial usage among smaller communities that have been merged by force by Islamic influence that literally bulldozed hundreds of ancient communities and forced

Alcohol Causes Cancer

New evidence of alcohol industry distortion of science

It is well known in the scientific literature that alcohol is a causative agent in at least seven different types of cancer including two of the commonest – breast and colorectal – but also including mouth, pharynx, larynx, oesophagus, and liver. The evidence is based on over 100 studies since 2007, and the risk is not simply associated with heavy drinking; quite moderate amounts of alcohol are associated with an increased risk of cancer.

However, the public is surprisingly ignorant of these facts and one of the main reasons for this appears to be distortion of the evidence by the alcohol industry.

New research from Professor Mark Petticrew of the London School

What Is Yoga?

The science of being human

With the passing of the third International Day of Yoga in 2017 as sanctioned by the United nations, a few thoughts on yoga for the uninitiated.

The word “Yoga” cannot be translated into English. In the Sanskrit, it derives from the root “Yuja,” which is to join or weld together. Just as two pieces of metal are welded together to become one.

So in the philosophy of Yoga, the embodied spirit of the individual becomes one with the Universal Spirit through the regular practice of certain physical and mental exercises. In another definition, Yoga is the art of life and its philosophy is meant to furnish the principles that substantiate and explain that art.

Artificial Intellegence

Engineering our future

Will engineering artificial intelligence create a just and humane future for us? Will the imposed ideologies of religious political biases be unchained?

Our scientists have over many generations been seeking to create not only obedient robots, they have been working towards autonomous intelligent units capable of doing the hard work and providing pleasure for their owners. Development is progressing rapidly in technology to give robots and more human appearance as well as an intelligence facilitating autonomy.

Within many industries, robots are doing the work of people creating a new class of unemployed and increased profits for the corporate masters. Without going into the debate about the safety of such a project, many thinkers and the entertainment industry

That Sugar Film

Sweet and deadly

Most of us have grown up to love sweet things even though it’s impossible to eat sugar by itself. But now in this new age of information, the advertisers and the corporations they represent encourage us to consume as much sugar as possible but on the other hand modern medicine is saying that sugar makes us fat, rots teeth, causes diabetes, heart disease and cancers.

What to believe?

In the early history of European sugar consumption, sugary foods and drinks became the new fad but sugar also fuelled industry or should we say trade and corporate greed? The plantations that grew sugar for European consumption were located in the Caribbean. The trading
