The Karma of Technology

Will we pay a price for our pleasure and conveniences?

In most families, children are taught and encouraged to do their share to help maintain families and communities. This is natural and they can take pride in their contribution. But in the situation that has become more prevalent in the modern world is that children are being forced into lives of hard labour to help maintain adults who should know better in lives of privilege.

This is one of the darker sides of capitalism where in the case of mining, minerals are taken/stolen from the earth and much of the labour is performed by children were often paid so little that they remain perpetually malnourished and are constantly abused.

Vegetarian Diet

Humankind’s natural diet

Everyone has an opinion, but not every opinion is correct. When we look around the world at humanity, those who live longest and remain healthiest all have a very good or semi-vegetarian diet. In Okinawa Japan, life expectancy amongst the older generation is in excess of 100 years because bulk of their diet is fresh vegetables.

It is one of the tragedies of Okinawa that the parents, great-grandparents and great-great-grandparents have to bury their children who are dying because they have embraced the Western high meat, high-fat and highly processed diet that has become so prevalent across the world.

In India and other countries where vegetarianism is prevalent, longevity and good health are considered normal yet in

Origins of Mathematics

A secret history

Today there would be no software, no binary computing, accounting or the sciences if there was no zero and the Indian numericals all modern science and technology is based on.

This includes the branches of Math : arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, conics, astronomy, calculus, etc.

Ancient Hindus deviced an amazing system of math codes using syllables and then creating sutras [aphorisms] & mantras [chants] with that that gave a student instant idea of the mathematical applications.

This sutra is endowed with spiritual content as well as mathematical significance: gopi bhagya madhuvrta, srngiso dadhi sandhiga, khla jivita khatva, gala hala rasandara It translates: O Lord anointed with the yogurt of the milkmaids’ worship, O saviour of the fallen,

Poisoning Humanity

Or what’s killing us

What future do our children have?

The toxic residues produced by industry over the past 2000 years have been conveniently overlooked. The Romans infamously used lead pipes and the lead drove them insane. More recently we switched to copper pipes but then it was discovered that as copper ages, the oxidised copper is harmful to our health and these were replaced with galvanised steel which were too expensive and today most people use plastic which presents another set of problems.

Modern society is driven by desires and some of them like access to clean water are vitally important whereas the desire for profits or to have the same stuff as one’s neighbours is totally

Karma as Destiny and Retribution

The mechanics of energy in nature

By Gauri Mataji Devi

The word karma has entered the vocabulary of all the modern languages and has become a household word, but often its meaning is trivialized and distorted due to cultural superimpositions and lack of proper information. It is generally used with the meaning of destiny, retribution or punishment, ie. what goes around comes around, as you sow, so shall you reap, or what you put out comes back.

In Abrahamic ideologies, this destiny is the “lot in life” incomprehensibly and unquestionably assigned by a tyrannical God to each individual at birth, and that must be accepted without discussion and without attempting to improve one’s situation.

To this fatalistic

DNA

DNA or Deoxyribonucleic acid

DNA symbol circa 5000 BC which became a medical symbol

DNA is often thought of as the blueprint of our body inherited from our parents and then passed in through our genes to our children. What is little known however is that there has been a knowledge of DNA for thousands of years across India and Persia, and this was used to prevent inbreeding within the population. This is known as ‘gotra‘ and families were able to trace their lineage back for many thousands of years.

The way it was practised could also be described as eugenics because it kept the population healthy. In another aspect, it is referred to as karma or memory.

Genetics and Golden Rice

The tip of a growing wedge into Asia

The topic of genetic engineering, only occurs in the mainstream media when groups like Greenpeace and other concerned citizens take action by destroying genetically modified crops. Yet most of our mainstream media has not bothered to look into the genetic modifications of food and its reporting mostly supports the corporate bias.

In the United States of America, it is estimated that genetically modified food can be found in about 80% of all processed food products and meat. Within the USA, the public has no right to know what foods are or are not geneticly modified and the genetics industry there has government endorsement and protection.

The primary reasons for growing genetically modified
