DNA

DNA or Deoxyribonucleic acid

DNA symbol circa 5000 BC which became a medical symbol

DNA is often thought of as the blueprint of our body inherited from our parents and then passed in through our genes to our children. What is little known however is that there has been a knowledge of DNA for thousands of years across India and Persia, and this was used to prevent inbreeding within the population. This is known as ‘gotra‘ and families were able to trace their lineage back for many thousands of years.

The way it was practised could also be described as eugenics because it kept the population healthy. In another aspect, it is referred to as karma or memory.

Genetics and Golden Rice

The tip of a growing wedge into Asia

The topic of genetic engineering, only occurs in the mainstream media when groups like Greenpeace and other concerned citizens take action by destroying genetically modified crops. Yet most of our mainstream media has not bothered to look into the genetic modifications of food and its reporting mostly supports the corporate bias.

In the United States of America, it is estimated that genetically modified food can be found in about 80% of all processed food products and meat. Within the USA, the public has no right to know what foods are or are not geneticly modified and the genetics industry there has government endorsement and protection.

The primary reasons for growing genetically modified

A Merger from Hell

And a nail in the coffin of life on earth

The news over the past week carried the story of the agrochemical giant Bayer’s announcement that it’s impending merger with Monsanto, the most hated company on the planet.

These two companies joining into one mega-corporation is truly the stuff of nightmares. Together they would be the biggest seed company AND the biggest pesticide company in the world with control over almost everything we eat and grow. It would mean more bee-killing neonics in our fields, more toxic glyphosate in our food, and more corporate control over our food supply.

This is not yet a done deal as Bayer and Monsanto must get this merger past regulators in the U.S. and

Multiple Sclerosis

There is a cure and you’ve not been told?

An electric wheelchair becomes a necessity as MS advances

Multiple sclerosis which is often referred to as ‘MS’ is a disease that damages or strips away the insulating covers of nerve cells (myelin sheath) in the brain and spinal cord. This damage in essence creates a short circuit (as in an electrical system) which disrupts the ability of the nervous system to communicate. This causes a wide range of symptoms from a lack of coordination and loss of motor function which leads to an inability to walk or perform simple tasks, mental problems. Over time the affected person becomes confined to a wheel chair and eventually requires 24/7 care.

Reflections on Sunday Morning

Do you want to live and be happy?

Were it not for our technology, the knowledge of the world at War and all the atrocities that go on would be a distant rumour that would have taken months to circle the globe. But last week when a naive and excited young girl went on a date with a Muslim man she thought charming and safe, images of her dismembered corpse appeared in the world media the next day.

While our media is full of horror stories and it seems like Doomsday is fast approaching, how do we make sense or even retain any semblance of sanity? Our politicians are playing games with our lives for the betterment of their

The Consequences of Alcohol

And it’s impact on civilisation

It’s a well established fact that alcohol dulls the senses and over a long-term period destroys brain tissue. Yet we are sensory beings and we rely on our senses to perceive the world around us as well as to make sense of that world. Therefore alcohol in effect is destroying sensitivity to life; in other words, making drinkers stupid.

Civilisation is a recognition that one belongs to a collective. So if we look at ants, each colony is a unique civilisation in a similar way to us. As human beings we all share common traits, but our sense of civilisation depends on our language and upbringing.

When we look at human civilisation, in the West

Sugar a sweet poison

Pure white and deadly

Natural sugar cane

The phrase ‘pure white and deadly’ has been around for a long time and few people seemed to care until it’s too late, but others are awakening and dropping it from their diet.

But why?

We instinctively know that sweet things are safe to eat as in nature sweet foods are safe to eat and mothers may notice that babies will readily eat sweets, but it takes about 15 attempts before the baby will eat savoury foods. This is because we instinctively trust sweet foods, but in nature we eat them with the fibre.

Sugar is a modern food additive that has no nutritional value and is not required for our survival.

The Swastika

An ancient symbol misunderstood

Ursa Major and Ursa Minor in relation to Polaris.

The symbol of the Swastika goes back over 11,000 years and is believed to have originated in the Harappan or Pre-Harappan period and the culture of the Indus Valley Civilization. There is also a mention of the Swastika in the Vedas around the same time.

The swastika, an Indian symbol of peace and continuity came into ill repute because of the Nazi regime in Germany who took it as their emblem. But they may not have had any idea what it represented. Unfortunately most people still look on the symbol with some disgust due to this recent chapter in our history, but elsewhere in the

Why Meditation?

A foundational practise

Most people understand that activities go better with some planning and while some things that occur spontaneously can be brilliant, some can go horribly wrong. Meditation grounds us in a reality that leads to a harmonious life and success.

Whatever we do, we want to be successful but sometimes the best planning and our most sincere actions don’t always result in success. But if we look at some of the people who meditate, they range from executives within the world’s most successful companies to ordinary people who want to achieve the best out of life.

Many meditators say that meditation is actually instinctive and this is borne out by the fact that usually before we commence any

Consciousness and DNA

You have the power to change your nature

In all the holy books of the world it is said that even the most despicable characters should they transform themselves progress to heaven and should the sick transform themselves, they will become well.

It has long been known but not very well discussed or understood that our DNA is malleable. This course is key to adaptation to new environments and not peculiar only to humans, but all life. A simple example is that children who ride horses, their pelvis will grow a little differently to those who never ride horses.

In a recent TV program (though the wormhole), Morgan Freeman and his experts were saying that DNA changes over time and
