Fine dining and ambience in Christchurch

Fine dining and ambience in Christchurch
Relocated since the earthquakes that destroyed the city, the Lotus Heart has been reborn as Christchurch's premier vegetarian restaurant.

The restauranters are followers of Sri Chinmoy, an Indian spiritual master who promoted meditation, health and fitness in the West after moving to New York City from India in 1964.

In addition to operating the restaurant and other ventures, mediation classes are taught in the city.  The Sri Chinmoy Centre regularly organises events and activities to help establish a balanced lifestyle of meditation, physical exercise and healthy living, integrating all parts of the being—body, vital, mind, heart and soul—to help bring forward our highest potentials and create a focused, dynamic, inspired and peaceful life.

You are warmly welcomed you to any of the spiritual activities of the centre. However when you go to eat, you will see that the restaurant is beautifully decorated reflecting the aspirations of the owners, yet there are no doctrinal overtones, just a relaxed ambience conducive to eating and good conversation.

The menu includes many trusty favourites such as burgers, pizza, masala dosa, soup, raw, vegan and gluten free options, coffee, chai and will also have a tea lounge and continue to specialise and expand on our range of tea and speciality drinks.

This is a popular restaurant and bookings are strongly recommended; even for breakfast and it is not open all day every day. Please see the website for the menu and opening times.
