India In The World

A nation re-emerging

"India is perhaps the most creative civilization in the history of the world and has been so for thousands of years. To begin with, Indic or Bharatiya culture embraces all aspects of art, from poetry, drama and literature to sculpture, painting and architecture, music and dance, and each in a wondrous variety of forms, modes and applications. India has never suffered from the devastating cultural split between the sacred and the profane that has long shadowed over Christianity and Islam, which have often limited or even denied representational art and evocative music forms as unsacred, and which still provokes intolerance leading to violence." ~ David Frawley, American Thinker & Author.

"It is true that even across the Himalayan barrier India has sent to the west, such gifts as grammar and logic, philosophy and fables, hypnotism and chess, and above all numerals and the decimal system." India was the motherland of our race, and Sanskrit the mother of Europe's languages: she was the mother of our philosophy; mother, through the Arabs, of much of our mathematics; mother, through the Buddha, of the ideals embodied in Christianity; mother, through the village community, of self-government and democracy. Mother India is in many ways the mother of us all". - Will Durant, American Historian.

"Dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence, it is India." - Romain Rolland, French scholar.

"Whenever I have read any part of the Vedas, I have felt that some unearthly and unknown light illuminated me. In the great teaching of the Vedas, there is no touch of sectarianism. It is of all ages, climbs, and nationalities and is the royal road for the attainment of the Great Knowledge. When I read it, I feel that I am under the spangled heavens of a summer night." - Henry David Thoreau, American Thinker & Author.

The documentary below threads together the stories
of ordinary people from around the world who
have been influenced by India’s ‘soft-power’ and
explores, how the soul of a nation exists outside
its own boundaries making India, so boundless!

"She (India) has left indelible imprints on one fourth of the human race in the course of a long succession of centuries. She has the right to reclaim . . . her place amongst the great nations summarizing and symbolizing the spirit of humanity. From Persia to the Chinese sea, from the icy regions of Siberia to Islands of Java and Borneo, India has propagated her beliefs, her tales, and her civilization!" - Sylvia Levi, Author.

"After the conversations about Indian philosophy, some of the ideas of Quantum Physics that had seemed so crazy suddenly made much more sense." - W. Heisenberg, German Physicist.

There is no doubt of India's wondrous past as the mother of nations and her potential to lead the world from suffering to happiness and joy, from economic and political uncertainty to a stable life for not only humanity, but all life on Earth. This is not through law and political control, it is through the willingness of all citizen to take upon them selves to become more responsible to life and ask why, to really want to know the truth of existence.

Through meditation we transform ourselves in harmony with others and in doing so we overcome our fears and become more able to recreate civilisation based on the reality of our existence.
