An age old problem facing humanity
It seems probable that slavery extends back to the very first humans with those who were not perhaps so bright were told by others what to do. In other words or another way of expressing this is: submitting to someone else's will is an optional survival strategy.
With the increase in the human population, at different periods of time and history which we know from old accounts that slaves in essence became the workers and the architects became the middle-class. In Roman society almost everyone had slaves including some slaves which makes the whole idea of slavery seem a little weird.
At the root of slavery lies capitalism. Capitalism is a social/political and economic system that assists people to acquire wealth, status and social power. The way it works is that a person or a group of persons who are referred to as capitalists takes raw materials from the earth or goods from others and then has workers transform them into products that other people want to possess.
This desire to possess what has been created may be paid for and what we know is money today, but in the past it was more often trade goods or services and those trade goods included people as slaves.
From what we can learn about olden times is that slaves were fairly well treated because their owners knew that if they weren't properly looked after, they would become ill and die. Of course there were slave masters who simply replace their sick and dying slaves new ones which created a huge slave trade around the world.
Most of us learn from our history books that millions of slaves were taken from Africa to the Americas, but millions of slaves also taken from Europe to Africa, the Middle East and even Irish slaves were taken to the USA in its formative years.
Slavery has evolved along with population growth and changes to our political and economic systems so that most slaves today don't even know that they are slaves. Our modern system of capitalism has camouflaged itself as democracy giving people the right and freedom to vote for community leaders.
Yet even though most people can vote, they are bound by debt in one form or another making the idea of individual freedom and liberty and idea rather than an actual truth. One can argue that because we are tied to our physical body which in turn is tied to our physical planetary home that there is no such thing as freedom and even the richest man or woman is equally enslaved.
While we are bound to this existence, freedom is only a relative term that perhaps we use far too liberally. Perhaps we need to remember more often that we are bound to this transient existence which in itself contains an underlying reality with which we may connect and know a greater freedom beyond physical constraints.
Widely circulated documents relating to "Ninth Circle " contain testimonies similar to: "A former United Church minister, and the International Tribunal for Crimes of Church and State (ITCCS) have demonstrated that the Vatican embodies and protects not just a few bad-apple pedophiles, but has institutionalized ritual child abuse and, in Canada, the US, and around the world, has overseen the mass murder of indigenous tribal children, mainly through Church-run orphanages." ~ Galactic Connection
Because men are physically stronger than women, they tend to dominate and because sex is a major driving force and one of our greatest pleasures, like gold and fine wine men and women who are seen as being physically attractive have always been desired for sex.
Sex trafficking is simply another aspect of slavery. The Romans may have gathered slaves to create their monumental buildings, but the powerful men and women of the land also desired sensual pleasure and there would have taken the more attractive slaves for their personal amusement.
In terms of those who profit by capturing, transporting and selling people as slaves, like in all marketplaces values are adjusted to the nature of the goods and selling people is no different.
As we step into the 21st century, very little has changed despite all the laws and opinions regarding human rights and social equity. Because our population has become so huge, and because our political and economic systems have been formalised, the most obvious aspect of the slave trade referred to as sex trafficking has become more apparent.
2000 years ago a shipment of slaves totalling 100 people arriving in Rome would be made up primarily of Gen workers and only a small number considered eligible to be suited for personal companionship although this often meant servants who in addition to everyday chores like housework would be expected to participate in sexual activities with household members and guests.
It is only since the arrival of religion that anything to do with sex became constrained and sex was just as much a part of life as eating and sleeping. The other aspect of sexual regulation was around the responsibility for children and at various times the children of slaves most often became slaves regardless of parentage.
So while there is very little demand for men as slaves in the world who are most often bonded workers, there is a huge demand for primarily women and children as sex slaves. There is no doubt that many minds have become corrupted that they desire sex with children, but it happens as low over the world millions of children are raped every year and perhaps tens of thousands are kidnapped or even sold by their parents into some form of slavery.
When it comes to sex slavery, children under 10 years of age are thought to be the tip of the iceberg and the main body of sex slaves are women between the ages of 12 and 20 who are most often put to work in brothels and to keep them compliant, they are addicted to drugs. That no one really knows how many die or how many survive or even escape, the only thing we know for sure is that their lives are far from pleasant.
In 2016 California Gov. Jerry Brown approved legislation in October 2016 decriminalizing prostitution for minors and taking other steps to make life after human trafficking easier for those forced into it. In the United States, as many as 1,000 children are arrested each year on charges of prostitution, according to Rights4Girls.
More than a dozen other states have similar laws decriminalizing prostitution for children, but the measure in California is significant because it is one of the largest U.S. states and accounts for many of the arrests of children in the country, according to a spokeswoman for Rights4Girls.
Under-age victims of sex trafficking are to be referred to child welfare agencies.
Over the past 50 years there have been periodic exposures of high-ranking politicians and community leaders involved in various forms of deviant sex and even slavery. There are some media reports (and The Clintons' War on Women) saying that former US president Bill Clinton had many lovers during his term in the Oval Office and unsubstantiated reports that he and his wife may have participated in such scandalous behaviour.
Around the world governments emphasise that they are doing all they can to control the modern slave trade, yet it seems they are really only paying lip service as the one, the problem is too big for them to deal with and secondly many of the world's top politicians are complicit by either profiting from the trade or being an end user.
The problem gets much worse when we have is limbs standing up and unashamedly saying it is their right as Moslems for men to have sex with four-year-old girls and for them to keep sex slaves in addition to having a legal Islamic right to buy and sell other people.
In many European countries now where due to the Islamic influx, the incidence of rape is so out of control that the authorities in countries like Sweden are telling women that they just have to get used to it because European laws are inadequate and the politicians refuse to see the problem.
