Ramadan

Its Origins and History

Muslims are told that the month of Ramadan is commemorative of Muhammad becoming "a prophet" and celebrated during the 9th month of the Islamic calendar. This practise was established as a Holy Month for Muslims after the Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in 610 CE on the occasion known as Laylat al-Qadr, frequently translated as “the Night of Power.

This is a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection for Muslims, but it's also used an excuse to induce jehadi sentiments amongst the poorly educated to provoke and deepen their commitment to blind beliefs and the need for violence. In theory The act of fasting is said to redirect the heart away from worldly activities, its purpose being to cleanse the soul by freeing it from harmful impurities. Ramadan is supposed to teach Muslims how to improve self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate; thus encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity (zakat).

Origins

Few Muslims have bothered to investigate the origins of Ramadan and believe that like everything else in Islam, Muhammad engaged in it and/or instructed his followers to do so. However long before the prophet Muhammad, Ramadan was a pagan ceremony widely practised across the region by people referred to in Islam and Judaism as Sabians, indigenous tribes-people who converted to Islam to avoid death. These 'Sabians' had traditions of fasting for 28 days during the lunar cycle.

It has been medically proven that fasting is very good for body and mind because it helps the body to detoxify and regenerate itself. The history is unclear as to the period of fasting but it is suspected that while 28 days may have been a goal achieved by many, the majority of the population who in those times were not assured of regular meals everyday may have only fasted part of that time.

The excerpts that follow are from the 20-year study of Dr. Rafat Amari, and his work "Islam: In Light of History" "Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and the rigid observance of thirty days of fasting during the daylight hours, has pagan roots developed in India and the Middle East. The observance of fasting to honour the moon, and ending the fast when the moon’s crescent appears, was practiced with the rituals of the Eastern worshippers of the moon. Both Ibn al-Nadim and the Shahrastani tell us about al-Jandrikinieh, an Indian sect which began to fast when the moon disappeared and ended the fast with a great feast when the crescent reappeared.

The Sabians, who were pagans in the Middle East, were identified with two groups, the Mandaeans and the Harranians.
They worshipped Sin, the moon, as their main deity, but they also worshipped planets and other deities. The Sabians were in contact with Ahnaf, an Arabian group which Mohammed joined before claiming to be a prophet. "In Mecca, the Ahnaf were called Sabians because of the doctrines they embraced. Later, when Mohammed claimed to be a prophet, he was called a Sabian by the inhabitants of Mecca because they saw him performing many Sabian rites which included praying five times a day; performing several movements in prayer that were identical with the Mandaeans and the Harranians; and making ablution, or ceremonial washing, before each prayer. In the Qur'an, Mohammed called the Sabians “people of the book” like the Jews and Christians.

Although the fasting of Ramadan was practised in pre-Islamic times by the pagans of Jahiliyah, it was introduced to Arabia by the Harranians. Harran was a city on the border between Syria and Iraq, very close to Asia Minor which, today, is Turkey. Their main deity was the moon, and in the worship of the moon, they conducted a major fast which lasted thirty days. It began the eighth of March and usually finished the eighth of April.

Arab historians, such as Ibn Hazm, identify this fast with Ramadan

"The pagan Arabians in the pre-Islamic Jahiliyah period fasted in the same way Muslims fasted, as originally directed by Mohammed. Pagan Arabian fasting included abstinence from food, water, and sexual contact – the same as practised by Islam. Their fasting also was done in silence. There was to be no talking, not even for a short period of time such as one day, or a longer period of time of a week or more. The Qur’an points to the same kind of fasting when, in Surah 19, it describes God instructing the Virgin Mary to say that she vowed to fast before God, which also meant she couldn't speak to anyone

The origins of Ramadan as a festival are also found in ancient Egypt where they used lanterns to celebrate. In real histsory Ramadan festival had other meanings which are now eclipsed. In some Muslim countries today, lights are strung up in public squares, and across city streets, to add to the festivities of the month.

Abu Zanad, an Arabic writer from Iraq who lived after the founding of Islam, in around 747 CE, wrote that at least one Mandaean community located in al-Jazira (modern northern Iraq) observed Ramadan before converting to Islam! Indonesian convert Muslims have adapted their pre Islamic ancient Hindu traditions to obfuscate as Islamic. On the island of Java, many Javanese Indonesians bathe in holy springs to prepare for fasting, a ritual known as Padusan. The city of Semarang marks the beginning of Ramadan with the Dugderan carnival, which involves parading the Warak ngendog, a horse-dragon hybrid creature allegedly inspired by the Buraq.

Violence and terrorism ?

During these times most believing men gather in mosques and the preachers offer them very incendiary sermons to follow the Qur'an word by word or literally. They use strong violent words quoting parts of the book to induce them to act irrational. The most thinking people do use their discrimination but the basic raw people take it as a inducement to harass and show off their zeal.

So they take it literally their work of jehad and proselytization which as they are told will give them big benefit immediately in this life and their life "IN HEAVEN" with several promising prospectus of being received by very beautiful dozens of nymphs. Obviously it is all a fraudulent bogus fantasy to the uncultivated minds and they take it really seriously . Imagine the marketers attempting to sell their product show attractive human figures to sell their product. Even if its an oven, dress, appliance or any idea they will project attractive women to call attention. Similarly Islamic preachers use these advertising ploys to attract unthinking and base men [Imbeciles or idiots in simple language] who can be sold anything if its to provoke desire or greed.

So driven and induced they as per their level of awareness act and those who are mostly child brain or a sensitive mind takes it all literally and does go out to kill the infidel as agent of "Allah". Thus it all ends up in extreme violence and the obsessive compulsive hard core believers end up committing murders and staging mayhem and chaos; while most Muslims keep themselves isolated apparently but they mostly approve and consent by their silence

Unfortunately, there are so many verses on inducing a follower to go and kill. No need to quote as they are on so many Islamic sites that are searchable easily. You see the unfortunate is psychological washing of brain and the convert is so fully engrossed and messed up he has few choices. But like all other things we all need to have our own judgement and discretion which untrained and idiots do not use.

You see all those who use Allah and God or Satan for tuning up the dumb followers are themselves using Korean Japanese American European appliances, Gadgets and aircrafts, autos & all tools which are not produced in any repeat ANY islamic country. Islamic countries can not even produce a small bicycle or a small washing machine or refrigerator. This whole game of calling their suppliers as infidel and or abusing people is a clever ploy but its time of expiry is coming as the world will not wait for such fascism any more.
