Caring for Your DNA

The core of our creation

We have an old saying “if you don’t use it, you lose it.” This phrase is most usually applied to our level of fitness and strength which is declining due to all our modern conveniences and modern lifestyle but it also applies to our genetic makeup.

There is growing evidence that our genetics and our DNA is influenced and can even be changed by our lifestyle, our way of thinking, our way of eating and our activities. We know that if we overeat and don’t exercise, typically would become fat and weak. We know that if we eat all the wrong foods, these can also contribute to weight gain and can weaken us at a

Feminine Hygiene

Contrary to opinion, women do sweat and other myths

As much as we may hate to admit it, women can sweat and have body odour similar to men, and a regular shower and clean clothes takes care of that. While body odour usually indicates that one is due for a shower or bath, excess body odour (BO) can also be a sign that ones diet and lifestyle is out of balance, or that one has eaten something disagreeable (like excess garlic) or has an illness.

Many women suffer skin infections and some of these are attributed to poor hygiene, however often the real cause is another health problem, or using to much soap/cleanser and failing to remove the soap/cleanser residues

Massage for Reproductive Dysfunction

Relieving symptoms of systemic breakdown

Considering that we live in such a dysfunctional, polluted and violent world, and despite a very strong drive to have sex and perpetuate our species, it is hardly surprising that so many couples have difficulty conceiving and having children.

To understand reproductive dysfunction from a holistic perspective, it is helpful to remember that we exist as a part of the life of the universe. We have been gifted this remarkable body and mind in order to experience life, yet we all live in prisons of our own creation.

Our physical prison is our geographic location and social class, but this is less significant than the prison that we create within our own minds. We are

Beyond the Body

Obstacles to healing

We exist within our physical body and it becomes a playground for working out some of our karma as we have experiences ranging from vibrant health to debilitating illnesses.

Most of us identify ourselves as our body and refer to our body as me, myself or I. Yet anyone familiar with any modern understanding of spirituality will recognise that the body is a vehicle and what we refer to as ‘I’ is something greater.

Our body is composed of about 70% water and a collection of elements and stuff which is obtained from the earth via the foods we eat. But even our mind is considered as being something physical, it is a bioelectrical system that facilitates

Vegetarianism

Our optimal diet

Baked Spud

Vegetarianism is the practice of following a plant-based diet of fruits, vegetables, etc., with the general exclusion of all meat and animal products. Science tells us that animal products and refined foods undermine our health while a whole food vegetarian diet is ideal and will provide internl conditions for a long and healthy life.

On a more subtle or refined level, eating an animal based diet makes us more aggressive, it limits the growth of our intelligence or consciousness and undermines our physical health.

A vegetarian diet is a lifestyle choice as much as a dietary choice.

Vegetables ideally need to be free of agricultural and environmental chemicals which is almost an

The Healing power

Of Massage

No doubt you have been told that if it’s unpleasant or tastes bad, it must be good for you but if you experience pleasure, you have been naughty!

Western civilisation is so unbelievably backward that it celebrates suffering as being good for us whereas the ideal state of living is to be in joy and bliss for the entirety of our existence. We have created a civilisation based on suffering in a world where everyone turns a blind eye to the wars, mass starvation and social injustice.

Yet everyone knows that pleasure provides temporary relief from suffering. Pleasure may be a good meal, time with friends and activities that don’t involve adding any more suffering to our lives.

Cascara Sagrada

Rhamus Parshiana

Also known as buckthorn or sacred bark, Cascara Sagrada is a shrub or tree native to North America. The bark is the active component of this plant. The fresh bark contains an emetic (vomit-inducing) quality which diminishes with storage or heat.

The bark can be harvested from even the young plants in Spring or early Summer. Care should be taken to remove only small amounts of bark from each plant, to ensure continuing growth. Dry the bark for at least one year before use to remove its emetic quality. Alternatively, if needed urgently the bark can be cooked in the oven at a temperature of 100°C for at least 2 hours.

Healing uses:
