East vs West

Spiritual truth in the East and the lack there of in the West

Gaia as the world tree by Alex GrayThe tree of life giving life – East but being destroyed by human greed, the West

The philosophical and lifestyle differences between East and West are apparent particularly when travelling from any western country to India. It is such a crazy chaotic place and yet there is something wonderful and transcendent in India not in addition to the resplendent colours and the joy on people’s faces.

I’ve written several posts on the subject and now thanks to a line by Chaman Lal, the penny has finally dropped in regard to what I’m attempting to

Growing Up

An art few truly accomplish

What does it mean to grow up? It means to become a responsible human being, and this is a subject rarely discussed and what is spoken of more commonly is that we become obedient citizens. Yet before we can become a citizen and carry out any civic duty, we need to become complete human beings.

It is from our incompleteness and failure to become human that we are engaged in so much conflict, that we are destroying our environment and living factionalised lives. Oh, I wish I’d looked after me dear old knockers, Not flashed them to boys behind the school lockers, Or let them get fondled by randy old dockers, Oh, I wish I’d looked after me tits.

‘Cos now I’m much older and gravity’s winning. It’s Nature’s revenge for all that sinning, And those dirty memories are rapidly dimming, Oh, I wish I’d looked after me tits.

‘Cos tits can be such troublesome things When they no longer bounce, but dangle and swing. And although they go well with my Bingo wings, I wish I’d looked after me tits.

When they’re both long enough to tie up in a bow, When it’s not the

Obesity

A Life imbalance

Over the past 100 years, obesity in the developed world has become a disease. The sedentary lifestyle, combined with an excess of refined foods is leading to a quarter of the population having to compromise their lives due to the effects of excess weight and they fall risk to diabetes and other dietary related problems.

The dieting industry has a high failure rate and diet alone seldom works. What does work is a fundamental change in life style which includes dietary changes. Diet programs regularly fail and people try many different and often expensive programs without any significant results.

So why do some people get fat while others don’t?

While two people may eat an almost identical
