Redefining Law

Ideas to save our world

Some of us take time out to reflect on who we are but most are so firmly bound to the wheel of samsara, the illusion of life by their karma that they do not take time or even have time to reflect. This was probably also the case in the most ancient of times when all effort went into survival with momentary time out for recreation and pleasure.

The earliest known laws are encoded within the Rig Veda then further expanded and refined by Manu, the first known lawgiver who is thought to have lived somewhere between 5000 and 3000 BC. “The Law Code of Manu, has more than 2500 laws, although about 1000

A New Paradigm in Law

An ancient rational to be revived

From part one

In part one I have given an overview of how the law has been corrupted to serve the rich and powerful at the expense of not only the people but of continued human existence and life on earth therefore a new paradigm in law is way overdue. I don’t expect these ideas will be a more successful than attempts to save the Amazon rainforest or the Great Barrier Reef yet these ideas must be expressed and perhaps at some point before we go extinct some of the rich and powerful may find their social consciences awakening to the reality that is looking them in the face.

The Question of Truth

And that truth will set you free

As children growing up we are taught to speak the truth as we see it, yet we learn to see that truth is often a matter of perspective and in some situations where a number of people have witnessed the same event, their telling is different because they all saw from a different perspective, a major problem when the law is involved. So what is referred to as the truth today is a convenient concept that most of us can agree upon.

This most of us has come to distinguish between various truths in relation to what we choose to believe this. The Christians believe that there heavenly guard is real even though

Remaining Sane in an Insane World

A guide for survival

We face so many challenges today, it’s simply mind-boggling to try and find any perspective. Everyone has a different opinion about what’s going on in life, especially politics, crime, poverty and what is about Muslims?

We know that life is finite and there is almost nothing that any ordinary individual can do or say that’s going to have any positive effect on the state of the world. Therefore the majority of people except that life is fate and we simply have to do the best we can to be the type of person we want to be.

Another word for fate is karma meaning ‘as you sow, so shall you reap’. The Western use of

Justice: What’s The Right Thing To Do? Episode 03: “FREE TO CHOOSE”

Part One

Michael Sandel introduces the libertarian conception of individual rights, according to which only a minimal state is justified. Libertarians argue that government shouldn’t have the power to enact laws that 1) protect people from themselves, such as seat belt laws, 2) impose some peoples moral values on society as a whole, or 3) redistribute income from the rich to the poor. Sandel explains the libertarian notion that redistributive taxation is akin to forced labor with references to Bill Gates and Michael Jordan.

Part two

Libertarian philosopher Robert Nozick makes the case that taxing the wealthy—to pay for housing, health care, and education for the poor—is
