Spare your body – sweet pleasure undermines health and the ability to enjoy life
Our love affair with sweets began when our parents used them as panaceas and bribes. When combined with untruths the result is often behavioural deviance.
One cannot categorically state that sugar is the root cause of all deviant behaviour, however it is a significant factor. The consumption of sugar as sweets gives a boost of sensory delight and energy that is addictive.
Food manufacturers know this and add sugar to most processed foods to keep people consuming their products.
Many of us as children were introduced to sweets and many of us continually pushed the margins for sweet rewards.

McCain Foods (Aust) Pty Ltd
The originally Canadian company McCain’s processes and sells frozen foods in Australasia and they have the motto, “oh McCain’s, you’ve done it again” implying that they’ve done something really wonderful. In terms of frozen vegetables this company is pretty much a household name so the other day I bought a packet of their frozen vegetables.
The supermarket chiller is full of many brands and because it was a familiar brand, I selected a bag of McCain’s frozen greens. My gaze didn’t take me much beyond the title, after all, veggies are veggies and later after preparing a meal, we sat down to eat. A lifestyle disease
Diabetes is one of the most common diseases in the Western world affecting an increasingly larger percentage of the population. It’s primarily a lifestyle disease caused by compulsive eating of processed foods, excessive sugar, alcohol and a lack of exercise, it’s not contagious, but hereditary factors can cause diabetes to occur within family groups.
Other causes include depression, ignorance about how to live well and the non availability of healthy foods. People who are depressed exacerbate their problems by eating instead of having a healthy social interaction.
