That Sugar Film

Sweet and deadly

Most of us have grown up to love sweet things even though it's impossible to eat sugar by itself. But now in this new age of information, the advertisers and the corporations they represent encourage us to consume as much sugar as possible but on the other hand modern medicine is saying that sugar makes us fat, rots teeth, causes diabetes, heart disease and cancers.

What to believe?

In the early history of European sugar consumption, sugary foods and drinks became the new fad but sugar also fuelled industry or should we say trade and corporate greed? The plantations that grew sugar for European consumption were located in the Caribbean. The trading corporations of the time such as the British East India company took manufactured goods and the Mediterranean, then I picked up a cargo of slaves and took them to the Americas to grow more sugar and their holds were stuffed with sugar for the return trip to Europe making for a very profitable business.

At the time sugar was a fairly new commodity and its effect on health completely unknown. But now we know that sugar undermines our health, and now you can sit back and play the video to get the full story of sugar. (There is no guarantee that this video will always be available)
